The Falmouth Day Centre run by AgeUK is looking to transform one of the building’s spare rooms into a room for people with sensory impairments and memory loss.

Staff aim to make the room comfortable, but with music, images and items to prompt |memories, or one that can be used for tasks and hobbies.

Lucy Downing, the day centre manager, is keen to hear from anyone who would be able to help create the room at the Killigrew Street centre or could provide materials that would be of use.

She said: “We will need lighting, music systems, lamps, old items such as sewing machines and typewriters to bring back memories, two small sofas, cushions, paint for walls, pictures, shelving, curtains, books, ornaments and, of course, volunteers to paint and help create the room.”

Contact Lucy and her team by calling 01326 316880 if you can help.
