Entry is now open for the RNLI’s annual fundraising Castle to Castle swim across the river Fal.

The event, now in its sixth year, will see participants swimming the one mile crossing from Pendennis Castle to St Mawes Castle to raise money for the lifeguard service in Devon and Cornwall.

Last year 390 people took to the water, including Eastenders star Steve McFadden, and raised a staggering £30,000 for the organisation.

The Castle to Castle will start at midday on June 8, and |is open to anyone over the age of 14 who is an intermediate or experienced sea swimmer.

Entry costs £10, with a sponsorship target of £55, and participants can register at www.rnli.org.uk/castle2castle.
