A man police wanted to speak to as part of a murder investigation into the death of Falmouth cyclist David Alderson has been arrested.

Kevin Cooper, age 33, from Redruth, has been the subject of a police manhunt.

Following enquiries in the Devon and Cornwall, and Thames Valley, policing areas, Mr Cooper was arrested in the early hours of this morning.

He was arrested in the Newbury area by officers from Thames Valley Police and will be taken to Camborne police station later today.

Detective Superintendent Paul Burgan, Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “The public response to our earlier press appeal has been excellent and we would like to thank them for their assistance.

“The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with further information should call police on 101.”
