Major damage has been caused by the poor weather and rough seas to parts of the track between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot.

Because of this damage, trains are unable to run between these stations until emergency engineering work can be carried out in the area. It is estimated that the work needed to get trains running again will not be fully completed until the morning of Friday, February 7.

First Great Western Sleeper services between London Paddington and Penzance are cancelled until further notice.

A bus replacement service is in operation between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot / Plymouth First Great Western and CrossCountry passengers may also use Stagecoach South West buses on reasonable routes. First Great Western and CrossCountry have mutual ticket acceptance between Exeter St Davids and Penzance Journey times may be extended by up to two hours
