Storage space sub-let plan for Gyllyngvase beach toilets

Falmouth Town Council is looking into leasing a part of the toilet block at the resort’s main beach to the Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club to be used as storage space.

The council will be taking over control of the town’s public toilets from Cornwall Council this spring and plans have been drawn up to sub-divide the ones at Gyllyngvase and sub-lease them to the surf life saving club.

What a stupid idea!! These toilets get really busy in summer and there are often queues so what will happen if they lose toilets??!!

If the town council wants to save money then I suggest they look at stop giving the Art Gallery money. Having lived in Falmouth all my life, several decades, I think I have been in there once and wouldn't bother again. I know several other residents who have never been in there and have no intention of doing so. I know schools use it but having spoke to my grandchildren about what they did there I think it was a waste of time. This could be taken over by the Art School as in these times when we are losing vital services I think this one thing we could do without - its hardly vital to jobs or services!!
