The popular coastal footpath from St Gluvias Church down to Muddy beach and on to Flushing has been closed for 21 days, due to landslides.

Pip Carlton Barnes posted on the Visit Penryn website that several points along the footpath have become unstable, with several other areas completely collapsed.

Boat owners who are moored below over hanging trees have been advised to find alternative moorings and walkers are warned to stay away.

I would like to know who advised the boat owners, when and how seeing as boat owners I know haven't been informed. This is despite them stating several times over time that the trees are and were dangerous but now it's too late. The damage has been done not just to the path but I believe boats. The problem seems to be of course that in order to cut or fell the trees the council's permission is needed and as too often in these cases the council seems to care more about trees than people or property.
