Persistently making a nuisance of himself by calling the police on emergency numbers and asking for a lift to St Austell, a man of no fixed address in Helston was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
He appeared before District Judge David Parsons at Truro’s magistrates’ court when he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Christopher Edward Ball, aged 33, first came to the notice of the police after a call from Tesco in Helston at 4am on January 23, when he was drunk and abusive and refusing to leave.
Officers advised him to go on his way but he soon returned and then made calls to the police asking for a lift. At one stage he was out in the road, causing vehicles to stop for him.
He had a previous conviction for a similar offence.
He was fined £75 and £75 costs and surcharge.
