The death of a man who washed up naked on Perranporth beach is being treated as suspicious, after a post mortem revealed 'unexplained injuries'.

Officers say the investigation has 'changed tack' due to the results of a post portem held yesterday.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Thorne said the discovery of the body was now being treated as suspicious, adding that there were injuries on the body that officers were 'not able to explain'.

Police are asking for the public's help identifying the man, and have released images of a shoe and a picture found in a jacket.

Officers would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have noticed a man fitting the description in the Perranporth area.

They would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the discovery of the man on the beach and who may have recorded the incident on their camera or mobile phone.

The body was found near the Watering Hole bar around 2pm on Tuesday, with an area of the beach cordoned off.
