A jail sentence has not been ruled out for a 21-year-old Helston man guilty of assault and having an offensive weapon.

Daniel Liam Stamp, aged 21 of Meneage Street, pleaded guilty before Truro Crown Court last Friday to causing actual bodily harm to Robert Oates and having with him the weapon, in the form of a metal weightlifting bar, on November 30 last year.

He also admitted possessing cannabis.

The case has been adjoined to April 11, when Stamp will be sentenced. Judge Christopher Harvey Clark said there was a “likelihood” of a custodial sentence.
