Fishy goings-on at Maritime Museum
1:00pm Tuesday 11th March 2014 in News
With the help of museum volunteers and their parents, children were invited to take part in fishing themed craft activities and make their own fish mask, googly eyed lobster or paper plate fish.
At other times in the museum Falmouth Aquarium’s senior aquarist, Chloe Kingston invited people to touch and learn about the weird and wonderful creatures found locally with her live marine encounters.
Visiting the museum was Savannah the Spiny Starfish, who at 12 inches is one of the largest species, Gary the Grumpy Lobster and a live edible crab.
There was also the chance to join in a crustacean animation workshop, where participants brought their own characters to life in a short film using stop-motion claymation.
There were also the free Flying Fish storytelling sessions and Douglas Dapper, the Story Explorer who trawled the museum for more fishy tales, in a brand new adventure.
