ShelterBox has added to its list of famous supporters with a visit from Olympian James Cracknell.

Gold medal winning rower and endurance athlete James spent time at the Helston headquarters of the aid charity, where he learnt more about its disaster relief work around the world.

The Olympian toured the assembly line where shelterboxes and school boxes are packed before shipping, then watched a video about the charity’s fundraising and worldwide deployment. He also met management and operations staff.

Cracknell, pictured, left, is one of Britain’s most successful athletes of all time, with two Olympic gold medals and six World Championship titles. Since retiring from his 13-year international career he has become an endurance athlete.

The charity has also received support from other sportsmen and adventurers including Sir Ben Ainslie, Monty Halls and James’ Ben Fogle.
