Falmouth will be awash with military uniforms this weekend as the local branch of the Royal Navy Association is awarded the freedom of the town and veterans gather for the St Nazaire memorial service.

Both events will take place on Saturday and will begin on The Moor. The first parade will leave the piazza at 10.45am and make its way to the St Nazaire Memorial on the Prince of Wales Pier for the 11am service which will include two minutes’ silence and wreath laying.

The parade will then reform at 11.20am and will march back to The Moor where members of the Falmouth branch of the RNA will be presented with the Freedom of Falmouth by mayor, Geoffrey Evans.

Another parade will then leave The Moor at 11.50am and make its way through the town centre, taking the salute at King Charles the Martyr Parish Church along the way.
