A TRAFFIC warden was racially abused on a Clitheroe street by two men, prompting a police investigation.

Around 3.30pm last Sunday the man, who is Asian, was in Edisford Road when two men who were standing on the pavement across the road began shouting racist remarks towards him.

The men have been described as white and one of them was wearing a burgundy jacket with black sleeves.

PC Justin Brown said: “This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour which has left the victim feeling very upset.

“We are very keen to trace the people involved.

“If anyone saw what happened or has any information that could help us to identify the two men responsible then I ask them to contact us on 101 quoting log number LC-20140310-0386, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
