Cornwall’s top cover bands will be performing live in Helston this month to raise money for the cardiac unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital and the British Heart Foundation.

The organisers of the Heart:Beats Music Festival, Kay Harvey and Graham Baumbach, are calling on their musician friends to raise funds to improve the lives of those suffering coronary heart disease.

The event which takes place at the Blue Anchor in Helston on Sunday, April 13, features everything from rock to ska to barbershop and back again, over two different stages.

Kay, who suffered a heart attack three years ago, said: “I was involved in the local music scene until my heart attack three years ago, hence the idea of a music based fund raising event, “I have been overwhelmed by the support of all my band pals since suggesting it, to date no fewer than 14 bands have offered their services free of charge. The event runs at the Blue Anchor from 2pm to 11pm on April 13, with a minimum £5 donation for entry.
