Helston schools have united to create a banner to be displayed in the town as part of the Flora Day celebrations.
Pupils from Nansloe and St Michael’s schools, and Helston Community College, visited Parc Eglos School to join local artists and the school’s art co-ordinator Karen Sarilar in making the banner. For the second year running, the design will be hung from the Grylls Monument on Flora Day before being displayed in the town’s museum and then at each school in turn.
Louise Jones, deputy head teacher at Parc Eglos, told the Packet: “We did it last year as well and are trying to make it a community event.
“We’re working with local artists and local children, and our children from the forces as well, celebrating and teaching them about local traditions.”
