There was a pasty extravaganza at Porthleven Community Primary School as pupils from year six tested out their culinary skills on their parents.
As part of their half-term module on Cornwall and mining, the pupils had been learning about the iconic pastry, and attempted to make their own.
After all making traditional pasties, the students were tasked with inventing their own recipes, which ranged from chicken and leek or chicken curry and rice to spaghetti and meatballs and even chocolate, marshmallow and vegetable.
Trish Godber, year six teacher, said: “They were very good, the pastry which they made themselves was very good.
“The more traditional ones were the more popular but the curry one also went down well.”
