Chyvarloe Farm at Gunwalloe is preparing for this year’s Easter open day.

To be held on Good Friday (April 18) between 11.30am and 4pm, it is the chance for families to visit a working farm for free.

The day will include a farmer’s |market including Cornwall’s Finest Foodboxes, meat, vegetables, books, crafts, gifts, dog treats, plants and cakes.

Children can meet the animals on the farm, seeing how Oopsi Daisy the cow has grown since she became an orphan after birth last autumn, visiting “celebrity” pig Boris who has appeared on Come Dine With Me, Tweety the Emu, new goats Hannah and Penelope, and Iron Mike the bull, plus other cows, sheep, pigs and chickens.

A children’s storyteller will be |performing and there will be games, a free Easter egg lucky dip and the chance to see the tractors and machinery used on the farm.

The 300-acre farm is rented from the National Trust by first |generation farmers Paul and Charlotte Parfitt.

In addition, to their main farm, they also rent land from Manaccan round to Sennen, bringing their total farmed area to 450 acres.

Easter is one of two main open days they host each year, with a |second in the summer.
