The Helston Methodist Church is putting on a three day extravaganza to celebrate its 125th anniversary on May 3, 4 and 5.

Saturday, May 3 will open at 11am with an opening service featuring soloist Joan Williams, which will also feature the cutting of the anniversary cake. The church will then stay open until 3pm with an anniversary exhibition.

Following this, at 7pm, Martin Mathews will host an “Old Helston” talk that will include a pasty supper. The tickets are £5 and available from Reverend Danny Reed by calling 01326 572303.

May 4 will begin with a 10.30am service by Rev Reed, with the Gweek Silver Band accompanying the hymns. Then at 6pm, there will be a Songs of Praise service featuring the Augmented Choir directed by Joan Williams with organist Nigel Dower.

The exhibition continues on the Monday, between 11am and 3pm, with the church also open on Flora Day, May 8.
