Part of Tolcarne Beach in Newquay was closed to public this morning after a bomb from World War One was discovered buried in the sand.
The area cordoned off while bomb disposal experts made the device safe.
Inspector Dave Meredith said the device was an "air dropped bomb" from the Great War..
The beach has now open
