Armed police were called to Helston early on Sunday evening after reports of a man threatening a neighbour with a sword
Local officers were called just before 5pm to Kingsley Way, where a 50-year-old man had allegedly been threatened.
Firearms units were called as back up, as officers had been told the suspect was in possession of a sword.
The issue was resolved by 6.30pm when a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
He was taken into police custody where he remained yesterday evening.
A police spokesman said: “No one was hurt during the incident and no weapons were used.”
