Methodist services in St Keverne will be held in the church hall from now on.
The church council voted last week to stop using the Methodist chapel building for the majority of services and instead hold the weekly 11am Sunday worship in the adjacent hall.
It was also agreed that the fellowship of St Keverne Methodist Church should continue as a society.
Rev Steve Swann, circuit minister, confirmed that the chapel building would remain in the possession of the circuit for the foreseeable future and would still be available for occasion services, or for events such as weddings and funerals.
He added: “The subject of the chapel will be decided in the future at some point.”
Rev Swann said the main reason for the move was that the hall was “more versatile.”
