Penlee inshore lifeboat was launched on Friday after a report of a fishing boat that had broken down near Mousehole harbour.

The 18ft fishing vessel had broken down with one person onboard and was close to the rocky shore with a fresh southerly on shore wind blowing.

This meant it needed to be a quick launch to prevent the vessel being blown onto the rocks.

Penlee ILB launched in four minutes just before 2pm and was on scene within 10 minutes from the pager alert.

The lifeboat crew secured a rope to the vessel and towed it safely into Newlyn Harbour arriving at 2.20pm.
