Two parked vehicles hit by a second time drink driver from Penryn were written off as a result of the damage caused, Truro magistrates heard.

Lorne Jodi Douce, aged 27, of Kernick Park, pleaded guilty to drink-driving on April 6 when he had 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the limit.

Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said just before 3am a member of the public called the police about the incident and officers went to the registered keeper’s house and spoke to Douce who had caused the crash near Arch Hill in Truro.

He said he had been out drinking with friends and had little recollection of how it happened. He had a previous conviction for drink-driving in September 2006.

Douce, who was not represented, told the magistrates: “I am really sorry. I should not have done it.”

He was fined £110 and ordered to pay £105 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for three years.
