A woman wanted for stealing drink from shops in Truro and Falmouth was eventually located in Camborne in a heavily intoxicated state.
Katie Marie Mesley, aged 27, of no fixed address in Camborne pleaded guilty to stealing seven bottles of wine worth £48.93 and four cans of lager worth £14.24 at Truro Magistrates’ Court.
Interviewed by the police she said she had no recollection of either incident.
Mesley, whose previous convictions resulted in a prison sentence for shoplifting, had now stopped using heroin and was cutting down on her drinking, her solicitor Mark Charnley told the magistrates.
Mesley was given a prison sentence of four weeks suspended for nine months.
