IT may have been a grey day but it was a white wedding for last year’s Packet Win Your Wedding competition winners, who married on Saturday.

Susan Stephens and Daniel Moore won the 2013 competition, run in association with the Falmouth Hotel, after receiving strong support from friends and family.

On Saturday they were there to see the results of their efforts, which won Dan and Susan everything from the dress and suits through to wedding car, photography and rings.

The couple chose to marry at Ruan Minor Church, in the area where Susan grew up, before heading to their prize reception at the Falmouth Hotel.

Hymns in the service included Lord of the Dance and Give Me Oil in My Lamp, with Susan’s sister Tracy Stephens reading a poem and best man Ben Bowden playing guitar and singing during the signing of the registers.

Susan was given away by her father Terry Stephens.

Bridesmaids were Dan’s sister Belinda Taylor, Sue’s sister Tracy, cousin Lucy Hill and best friend Toana Ellis, with the couple’s one-year-old niece Bella-May Taylor as flower girl.

The best man was Dan’s cousin Ben Bowden, with his brother-in-law Colin Taylor and friends Paul White and Liam Nuzum as ushers.

The wedding party and guests enjoyed Champagne and canapés on arrival at the hotel, before sitting down to a prawn cocktail or soup for starter, followed by a choice of roast beef or chicken with trimmings, and finishing with chocolate profiteroles or strawberry mousse.

A live band played in the evening, as the guests were treated to mini hamburgers and fish fingers with chips.

Bridesmaid and groom’s sister Belinda said: “It was just a really lovely day – magical. The weather didn’t put a damper on it at all and we managed to get outside for photos.

“They had a fantastic time.”

Susan and Dan are now enjoying a honeymoon in Las Vegas, California and Hawaii.
