Raising money for charity was all in a day’s work for three members of staff at Falmouth’s Tesco Metro store. However, it has to be said a normal day at the office does not usually involve having jugs of baked beans dumped over their heads.
John Haymes, manager of the Killigrew Street store, along with personnel manager, Louise Molin, and deputy manager, Paul Badham, each spent an hour sitting in a bath of beans inviting shoppers to give a donation for the “privilege” of pouring the beans and tomato sauce over them.
By the end of the day, the trio had, between them, raised an impressive £220 which has been donated to the charity, Diabetes UK.
