A scheme which would upgrade the rear of a building in Falmouth’s town centre and create a new two-bedroom flat, is being supported by local councillors.
Anthony Smith, who owns the freehold of 38 and 39 Church Street, attended a meeting of Falmouth’s planning committee to explain to councillors exactly what is proposed for the rear of number 38.
“I purchased the properties in a run-down condition and have spent a considerable amount of money renovating the flats on the two upper floors,” he said.
The plan is to build an extension to provide an additional flat.
Councillor Oliver Cramp said: “It is good to see this sort of investment in the town and we should strongly support this.”
His fellow councillors agreed and are recommending Cornwall Council approve the applications for planning and listed building consent.
