Costumed revellers from Helston, Falmouth, and beyond descended on a clifftop at Beacon Crag in Porthleven over the weekend for the Masked Ball music festival.

As well as attendees in full evening attire, other outrageous outfits included human mirror balls and a herd of blue dinosaurs, along with a liberal sprinkling of glitter.

Moving between venues with names such as the Jelly Jazz Circus Tent, the Raveyard and two ballroom tents, ballgoers danced the night away to acts such as Horse Meat Disco and the Cuban Brothers, as well as a DJ set from Groove Armada, followed by a Sunday line-up led by Rob Da Bank.

Organizer Kelvin Batt said: “This had to be the best Masked Ball yet, the whole event had a proper festival vibe. The crowd was fantastic, with some amazing costumes. A great line-up helped and we really upped the production, and everyone was really well behaved.”

The organisers have now started on the clean-up, with a list of lost property being posted on their Facebook page, and have also started releasing early bird tickets for the Halloween ball in six months time.

Masked Ball will be donating money raised at the event to Porthleven County Primary School, Surfers Against Sewage and Pants Gynaecological Cancer Charity.
