Proving charity fundraising really is fashionable, Helston WI members and friends took to the catwalk last week in support of ill children.

The club’s annual fashion show took place at St Mary’s Church Hall and this year proceeds were going to the Children’s Hospice South West for the first time.

The show featured models as young as 11, through to more senior members of the WI, together with volunteers from the charity’s shop in Coinagehall Street.

Clothes on show were a sample of what the shop has to offer, with everything modelled on the catwalk available to buy on the night.

WI members had been busy baking in the run up to the event, with the cakes and buns on sale halfway through the show, when a raffle was also held.

The aim was to cover the cost of the event, so that every penny raised on the sale of items could go directly to the charity.
