The sun shone over St Keverne on Sunday for its annual fun dog show.

The playing field was full of well groomed dogs parading the ring in front of judge David Nicholas from Goldsithney, competing for rosettes for first through to fourth place along with prizes.

Canine competitors entered classes such as dog in best condition and best working dog, together with more fun classes such as fancy dress, dog with the waggiest tail and dog the judge would most like to take home.

Organised by the Friends of St Keverne School (FoSKS) committee, the event is now in its third year and continues to be a great success, raising just over £800 for the school this year.

Sarah Lambrick, from the committee, said: “There was a great atmosphere, with well behaved dogs and many people from the community coming along to enjoy the show and to browse the stalls, with the children all having a fantastic day too.”

She added that the committee would like to thank Cornwall Farmers Ltd, Head and Head, Pets Pantry, The Dog House, Pet Crazy and Mole Valley Farmers for their support and donations towards the day.

It would also like to thank David Nicholas for taking the time to judge the classes, some of which had more than 20 entries making it not an easy task.

“Finally thank you to everyone who came along to support the day and take part in the fun dog show, which will definitely be run again next year,” she said.
