Winter Olympic snowboard hero, Jenny Jones, will take a front row seat at this year's Falmouth University graduate fashion show.

The professional snowboarder from Bristol will be the guest of honour at the fashion show on May 21 in Truro.

Jenny is the UK’s most globally respected and successful professional snowboarder. Since 1999 she has won countless big air and slopestyle competitions – including three X-Games gold medals in a row between 2009 and 2010 – and became the first Briton to win an Olympic medal in a snow event after winning bronze in slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Falmouth University has invited Jenny to view the collections designed and produced by the BA(Hons) Fashion Design and in particular, the BA(Hons) Performance Sportswear Design students. The principal aim of the course is to encourage students to explore the future of performance garments through innovative design and construction.

Jenny said: “As athletes, we constantly push the limits of snowboarding to new heights and it’s important that our clothing does the same, whilst still enabling us to maintain our individual style. Encouraging new designers to take up this challenge is key to the future of the sport and I’m really excited to see what the students have to offer.”

Members of the public are invited to attend either the Gala Fashion Show at 7.30pm or afternoon show at 3pm, NCP Car park, High Cross, Truro. Tickets can be purchased on line at: www.falmouthfashion2014.eventbrite.co.uk
