CORNWALL Air Ambulance has expressed "heartfelt thoughts and condolences" after playing a vital role in yesterday's coach crash that killed two Ddevon women.
Two paramedics and one pilot on board Cornwall’s air ambulance helicopter were alerted to the incident at Morval shortly before 1pm and were the first aircraft on scene, arriving within 15 minutes of the incident occurring.
Cornwall Air Ambulance paramedics were involved in the treatment of all "time critical patients". Their specialist skills were used to stabilise and prepare patients for transfer to hospital by other aircraft and land vehicles.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance aircraft and crew remained on-scene for the duration of the incident.
After the patients had been transferred to hospital the helicopter was then re-tasked to a cardiac arrest patient in the north Cornwall area.
A spokesman said: "This incident, whilst tragic, showed the very best collaborative working by all emergency and rescue services involved.
"The heartfelt thoughts and condolences of all at Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust are with everyone involved in yesterday’s tragic incident, especially those seriously injured and bereaved."
