A mother and daughter duo from Falmouth are tackling a string of challenges to raise money to help get disabled children into sport.
Eight year old Mollie Laity, pictured above with her mum Sara Cave, took on her first ever triathlon at Liskeard on Saturday, April 26, and will attempt another three in May, June, and October, while her mother is undertaking an obstacle course, a triathlon, an off road run, and a mile sea swim, before she runs the New York Marathon in November.
Sara said: “Mollie’s got a boy in her class who’s in a wheelchair, and the charity buy wheelchairs to get children into sport.
“Her friend told her about it, and we got the information and got into it.”
The pair will hold a fundraising day on August 24 at Falmouth Watersports Centre, and are collecting donations online via www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/cavesgetkidsgoing2014.
