Children at Penryn Junior School have become published writers thanks to a workshop with a Ponsanooth based author.
The school’s year five pupils spent time with Charlie Carroll as part of the Lend Me Your Literacy project, which encourages children to write and provides an online platform to publish their work.
Charlie said: “I worked with year five and had a really wonderful time with them. They are incredible young writers, the work speaks for itself.
“Looking online, it’s had about 150 views, just for their work, and that’s totally deserved.”
Year five teacher, Vicki Hall, said: “Charlie was enthusiastic and motivating throughout the whole day. He continually encouraged the children to challenge themselves which allowed them to create fantastic pieces of writing. They all had a go at writing an adventure story, and they did brilliantly.
“Knowing people were looking at their work was incredible, it encouraged them to concentrate and improve their stories.”
