A Penryn-based writer has made a very public statement about leaving social networking, by renaming her house Dun-Facebookin’.
Elaine White, who lives on Helston Road, said: “I got fed up of Facebook last year, and was thinking if you come off Facebook people start ringing up and asking if you’re alright. It can be perceived as a statement.
“I thought you should be able to retire from Facebook at 60, and the play on words popped into my head.
“I thought of having a house plaque made, did it for a laugh and put it up, and it just makes people smile.”
Elaine suspended her account on the website in January this year, leaving a picture of the plaque as her last post, but the self-imposed ban didn’t last, and she was back online by March.
