It is understood security bolts and the front door of the club in Bickland Water Road were damaged, before the burglars forced their way into the gambling machine.

Police have logged that £500 was taken, although this figure has been reported as estimated closer to £900 by the club.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference GP/14/900.
