Police investigating the stabbing of a 42-year-old man in Newquay say it was "not a random attack".
No one has been arrested over the attack on Thursday May 15, with police still hunting for the suspect wanted in connection with the attack.
A police spokesman said: "The victim knew the suspect so this was not a random attack."
Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward with information that will assist with the arrest of the suspect and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may recognise the description of the suspect.
He is described as a man between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, bald, of average build and was possibly wearing a grey top.
Anyone with any information is asked to please call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference CR/073140/14.
