Last week the Packet reported on how well known businessman Wesley Bowden married fellow Helstonian Lynn Constance Gerrell in a service packed with well wishers.

Now we can share photographs of the big day, thanks to their friend Alan Cox.

As a reminder for those who did not see last week's article, Wesley, who owns Bowden's Home Hardware in Market Place, had issued an open invitation to the town to join him and Lynn when they wed at Helston Methodist Church.

The result was a full church of well-wishers for the service, led by Methodist minister Rev Danny Reed.

Falmouth Packet:

The bride entered to Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring played by Sarah Chaplin, with hymns in the service including Love Divine, Make Me a Channel of Your Peace, In Christ Alone and Great is Thy Faithfulness.

Prayers were led by Pastor Michael Bretton, of Helston Light and Life Church, and Bible readings came from Marie Levy (John 2:1 - 11) and Shirley Wearne (1 Corinthians 13).

During the signing of the register there were songs from Benjamin and Thomas Reed, Mr Reed's sons who are members of the Truro Cathedral Choir, Christine Cumber, and Margaret Green and Dennis Harry.

The happy couple left the church to the sound of Widor's Toccata played by Nigel Dower.

Falmouth Packet:

Ahead of the service there was 45 minutes of communal singing, of hymns and Cornish songs, with pasties and cream teas served afterwards.

The evening reception then took place at the Light and Life Hall, where there was a buffet.
