Entry is now open for next year's Cornwall Tourism Awards.

Running across 21 categories, the awards are available to all tourism related businesses.

Now in their 13th year, they are a recognised symbol of excellence and quality.

This year new titles are up for grabs with the introduction of a dog-friendly category, as well as one focusing on access and inclusivity.

The categories for attractions and camping, caravan and holiday parks have also been redefined to reflect the varying business types, while traditional favourites covering everything from hotels to customer service make a welcome return.

Malcolm Bell, Head of Visit Cornwall, the Cornwall Development Company tourism service, said: “The Cornwall Tourism Awards shine the spotlight on what makes Cornwall such a successful place to visit and celebrate the industry’s passion for brilliance.

"Every year they showcase ever increasing standards from a broad range of businesses and I look forward to welcoming entries from previous winners as well as new contenders.”

Julian German, Cornwall Council Portfolio Holder for Economy and Culture, agreed: “The awards play an important role in recognising the vital contribution tourism makes to the economy, culture and vibrancy of Cornwall and help businesses feel rightly proud of their achievements. Collectively these businesses help put Cornwall on the map and now is their time to enjoy some of the glory.”

The awards are presented by Visit Cornwall and made possible by a range of sponsors.

The launch of the Cornwall Tourism Awards coincides with the Devon and South West awards and comes fresh from Cornwall’s success in the national VisitEngland awards, when five Cornish businesses picked up national accolades.

The awards will culminate with a gala gvent in November when the winners will be announced.

Those winners will then be fast tracked into the South West awards, from which those winners will be submitted to the national VisitEngland awards in 2015.

The deadline for entering is midnight on, June 29. For details on how to enter along with top tips and advice, visit www.cornwalltourismawards.org.uk or http://www.visitcornwall.com/industry/tourism-awards
