Arson suspected in over Hayle gas meter fire
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it suspected arsonists had set fire to a rubbish bin in Hayle.
One appliance from Camborne was called just after 5pm on Sunday, April 25, and firefighters found that the fire had spread to a gas meter.
Wearing breathing apparatus, the crew used a high pressure hosereel jet to extinguish the fire before isolating the gas supply.
The crew then waited for a gas engineer, and Devon & Cornwall Police were informed.
