The struggles of the winter were forgotten today when the sun shone for a royal visit in Porthleven.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester toured the storm hit harbour, seeing how the community had rallied after the damage caused back in February.
Escorted by mayor Danny Williams and deputy Barbara Powell, the royal couple met with shopkeepers and community groups before enjoying a cream tea.
The pair arrived separately from different visits earlier in the day, the Duke arriving first.
He briefly visited Suzie Williams in the Four Crows Gallery before heading down to the cannon where he was later joined by his wife.
They spoke to Tim Pryke and Becci Bistam of Porthleven Community Group, which organises events including the annual duck race in the port.
Gill Nicholas from Porthleven Bowls Club and members of Porthleven Gig Club also met the honourable visitors.
Earlier they had paid visits to Origin Coffee in Helston and Mullion Harbour, which was also damaged in the storms, as part of a larger tour of West Cornwall.
