Detectives investigating the suspicious death of a 63-year-old man in Camborne say he may have been subjected to physical and financial abuse in the weeks leading up to his death.

Officers have issued an appeal for information about the final weeks of his life.

A murder enquiry was launched after Terry Oldham was found deceased at his home in Dolcoath Road on April 1. He had sustained serious injuries.

Three men and one woman from Camborne have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been bailed until June 17, 2014.

Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are now appealing to the public to help them build a picture of Mr Oldham’s life before he died.

They believe that he may have been subjected to physical and financial abuse in the weeks leading up to his death.

Detective Inspector Costa Nassaris, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “This was a disturbing death where Mr Oldham has sustained serious injuries.

“We believe that Mr Oldham was the victim of abuse in recent months and we are appealing to anyone who can provide information on events leading up to his death.

“In particular we would like to speak to anyone who had seen, or been in contact with Mr Oldham in the weeks before he died. We would urge anyone who may have information, however small, to come forward as this could be vital to the enquiry.”

Anyone with information is asked to telephone police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously, quoting crime reference AC/14/1402.
