A face-slapping incident between two women in The Witchball pub on The Lizard resulted in the landlord getting a “football-style” kick from one of them as he tried to separate them.

At Truro Magistrates’ Court Isabelle Ipas, aged 43, of Croft Parc, The Lizard, was fined £250 and told to pay him £100 compensation, having already pleaded guilty last month to assaulting Adam Weston on March 15.

Gail Hawkley, prosecuting, said Ipas had been at the pub with her partner when there was an argument about his alleged flirting with another woman.

When the confrontation started between the two women Mr Weston and two other men ejected Ipas from the pub during which time she kicked out at him “football style” and made an attempt to bite him.

When the police arrived she kicked out at officers so much she had to have leg restraints put on and handcuffs were used to control her.

She told the police afterwards that she did not realise she had kicked anyone and was quite shocked when she saw her behaviour which had been recorded on CCTV.

She had previous convictions for battery.

Dawns Hallett, her solicitor, said Ipas was jealous of the other female, who slapped her during the argument and she slapped her back. Seeing what she had done later, she was ashamed of her behaviour.

Ipas was given a drink banning order and an exclusion order to prevent her from going to the Witchball pub, and made to pay £110 costs and surcharge.
