Falmouth has been named the UK’s top specialist arts university by the Complete University Guide 2015.
In a week of league table announcements, Falmouth also ranked the highest new entrant in the Times higher education student experience survey 2014, measuring joint number one across various categories: good personal relationships with teaching staff (joint first with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge); good accommodation; and good library and opening hours.
The survey of student opinion highlighted Falmouth as a modern breakthrough institution, saying: “Falmouth ...was ranked twelfth place overall, scoring particularly highly for its accommodation but also across a range of measures deemed important by undergraduates.”
The results were echoed by the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2014 which revealed Falmouth as the number two best university in England across the courses and lectures category and the fifth best university of the year.
Professor Anne Carlisle, vice-chancellor and chief executive, said: “We’re delighted with these league table results which highlight the quality of facilities, teaching provision and overall university dedication to providing students with a world-class education.”
