Police investigating the death of Alan Jeal, who was found dead on Perranporth beach have released new CCTV images showing him in Newquay and Perranporth on Monday, February 24, the night before his body was found.

The CCTV shows Alan getting off a bus at Newquay bus station at 8.16pm and walking around the town centre, before returning to the bus station at 9pm. He then caught the 9.15pm bus to Perranporth.

Alan is also captured on CCTV in Perranporth between 10.25pm and 10.27pm.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Thorne, senior investigating officer, said: “Originally we believed Alan caught the bus from Truro to Perranporth on Monday evening, but now this latest CCTV shows Alan in Newquay before taking a bus to Perranporth.

“We are hoping this may jog the memory of someone who was in the area at the same time as Alan and they may recall seeing him.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 381 of 1 March.
