The Packet goes mobile with new site designed for your phone

Falmouth Packet: The Packet goes mobile with new site designed for your phone The Packet goes mobile with new site designed for your phone

The Packet has gone mobile with a new responsive mobile site designed for smart phones

Users accessing our news, views travel, traffic and much more on mobile smartphones will be redirected to the new responsive design, although you can still view the desktop version by clicking the 'Desktop site' button.

The change will mean a better layout of our content for smaller screens, longer pages for scrolling, and simple navigation.

Let us know what you think by geting in touch with jonathan.millar@packetseries.co.uk or by dropping us a message on Twitter @thepacket.

It would be really good if it all worked on my iPhone 5. However, when clicking on the desktop site button it just redirects straight back to this mobile site and will not allow me access to the full site. Additionally, the 'most popular' button does not load the 'most read' and 'most commented pages'. :(

The option for menu and search, at the top, on this mobile site, do not work on this iPhone 5 either. Perhaps I need a new phone, or a new brain :(

The desktop site button now works on the mobile site :) however, the menu button at the top still does not. Still, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Conclusion, windows8 phones have an advantage over Apple iPhone5!

Having contacted a member of staff at the Packet, I now know there was/is a few problems with the mobile website, this affects my phone, whereas the windows8 mobile phones they have in the office at the Packet, apparently work correctly with the mobile site. I was interested to know if it was just my particular phone experiencing problems.

The Packet staff are very helpful and informative for which I am grateful.
