Plymouth-based Royal Marines will be canoeing from St Mawes to the St Nazaire Memorial on Falmouth’s Prince of Wales Pier on Monday as part of the 1664 Challenge commemorating the corp’s 350th anniversary.
Twelve members of 42 Commando are expected to cross the River Fal estuary between 2.30pm and 4.15pm on Monday as part of a race against six members of a team who will be running from Truro.
They will be met at the memorial by Falmouth’s mayor John Body and a minute’s silence will be held.
