The Rotary Club of Falmouth has raised £1,000 for the town’s food bank.

President Rob Homewood presented the cheque to representative of the charity David Ward, who said the money would be put to good use in helping local people.

The donation was handed over at a regular Rotary lunch meeting at Falmouth’s Greenbank Hotel.

The Falmouth Rotary Club is no stranger to charitable givings with their aims marked as “service before self, the maintenance of high ethical standards in business and the advancement of international understanding and goodwill”.

The Foodbank charity is a national scheme which provides three day supply packs of emergency food for those living below the breadline.
