Three people had to be pulled to safety from a smoke filled block flats at Carnon Downs on Friday.
Crews from Truro and Falmouth were calledout just before 4.30pm after a report of smoke coming from a ground floor flat and that there was a person inside the property.
A fire and rescue service spokesman said: "On arrival the Truro crew soon requested an extra two appliances, also coming from Truro and Falmouth, plus Police and Ambulance.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus very quickly rescued a person from the ground floor flat who was suffering smoke inhalation.
"Smoke had also perculated to the flat above and fire crews assisted the two occupants to safety.
Crews also used two hose reel jets, a covering jet and two thermal image cameras."
The crews gave oxygen therapy to the casualties who were left in the care of ambulance staff.
