A busy morning for Falmouth RNLI saw volunteers launched to help a fishing boat, only fifteen minutes after returning from a four hour rescue.
The all weather lifeboat had just returned to its station berth after towing in the Yacht Nossi when at 5.40am Falmouth Coastguard requested that it head into Falmouth Bay to standby and possibly assist the Lizard lifeboat with the tow of the 16m fishing vessel Marina Emel which had lost propulsion 18 miles south east of Falmouth.
The Lizard lifeboat had originally been launched to assist the vessel, and had towed it back to near St Anthony lighthouse before rendezvousing with the Falmouth boat.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "The lifeboat stood by while the fishing vessel was towed into the Fal Fish berth in Falmouth docks where two members of the lifeboat crew were put ashore to assist with mooring up the vessel. Once the boat was safely secured at 6.47am the lifeboat was released to return to its station."
